What are some good makeup/beauty tips?

Like how to keep your eye liner from smudging. Is it better to use pencil or black eyeshadow? How do you deal with an oily face? How do you keep your hair smooth all day? Any beauty secrets or tips are welcome. What are some good makeup/beauty tips?
EYELINER!!! I have an awesome tip on eyeliner!!! Ok, I fell in love with it b/c my eyeliner always smudges and I HATE it so much!!! You can buy it at your local Merle Norman. http://merlenorman.com/Color/eyeliner.ht鈥?/a>

That is the link and it's the 3rd one down called Luxiva Lasting Creme Eyeliner. I get that and it literally stays on all day long and doesn't smudge! I love it! I'd die without it! And it takes a little bit to get used to at first but it's easy after a couple of days. You put it on with a brush that you will buy there! It's so amazing b/c it is smudge proof and stays on all day!!!What are some good makeup/beauty tips?
Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner is the best. It is gel like and sticks to the eye for a very long time. But you need to chosse a good brush for it other than the ordinary eyeshadow brush.. You will find good brushes at MAC

another tip, before applying the lip stick or lip gloss, wear foundation on you lips so that the original color of the lipstick clearly shows.
MAKEUP

STEP 1: FOUNDATION: After Cleansing, Toning and Moisturizing your face apply a small amount of foundation to the tip of your index finger, dot on forehead, nose, cheeks and chin then blend in an upward and outward motion without leaving a line. Be sure to apply foundation over your eyelids and blend without leaving a line. Glance in the mirror to ensure there's no line. You can use a concealer to cover imperfections such as blemishes and dark spots. You can use our NATU-CLEAR to remove dark spots, even skin tone and skin discoloration.

STEP 2: TRANSLUCENT POWDER: Using a Powder Brush apply Translucent Powder in a downward motion for a smooth finish. Translucent Powder helps eye makeup and blush to go on smoother and blend better. It also keeps your face looking fresh and your Makeup will last longer.

STEP 3 EYE MAKEUP: Starting at your lash line, apply your Base Color first, then apply your crease color in the crease area. Apply your Highlight Color in the highlight color area, below the brow bone. Finally, blend the colors with a cotton ball or your fingertip to remove any obvious line. If the colors are too bright tone them down with a little Translucent Powder then apply your Mascara, and dust your entire face downward with Translucent Powder.

STEP 4 BLUSH: Your Blush should go on the apples of your cheeks to radiate when you smile. It should go no closer to your nose, but directly beneath the iris of your eye; below nostril-level and into your temple hairline. A good Blush Brush that's tapered for precise placement, is a must.

STEP 5 LIPSTICKS: Define the outline of your lips with a professional lip brush or lip liner pencil that closely matches the color of your lipstick. Then apply your lipstick and blend the liner with a lip brush. Start from the center working outwards.

The best way to use this masque is while sitting in the tub because it is a bit messy. Apply to the entire face, neck and shoulder area. As it sits, keep applying more while you build the masque up as well as massage it in. Let sit for at least 10-15 minutes and then remove with a warm washcloth. Finish with a tonic or hydrosol on a cotton ball to remove any excess product from the skin, then moisturize as usual.

This is a wonderful softening and firming treatment in one.

PEACH TIGHTENING MASK

1 Peach, ripe, peeled, pitted

1 Egg white

Whip the peach and egg white together in a blender until smooth. Gently pat the mixture all over your face. Relax for 30 minutes, and then rinse it off with cool water.

APPLE MASK FOR NORMAL SKIN

1 Apple, cored %26amp; quartered

2 T Honey

Drop the apple pieces into a food processor and chop. Add honey and refrigerate for 10 minutes. Pat the mixture onto your face with a light tapping motion, tapping until the honey feels tacky. Leave it on for 30 minutes and then rinse.

CUCUMBER MASK FOR OILY SKIN

1/2 Cucumber

1 Egg white

1 T Lemon juice

1 tsp mint

Puree everything and refrigerate for 10 minutes. Apply the mixture to your face and leave it on for 15 minutes. Rinse with warm, then cool water.

How to prepare Face Masks at home?

For dry skin: Mix half teaspoon honey with the yolk of an egg and one tablespoon dried milk powder. Mix into a paste and apply. Remove after 20 minutes with water.

For oily skins: Mix half teaspoon honey with egg white and one teaspoon lemon juice. Add fuller's earth.

For oily skin and enlarged: Add lemon juice and a little milk to oatmeal. Apply the paste and remove after 20 minutes with water. Do not use if there are eruptions.

For oily and combination skins: Mix one tablespoon yoghurt with fuller's earth and apply. Yoghurt itself can be applied on the face. It helps to soften the skin and restores the natural acid mantle.

Cucumber and Honey as Toner.

1 medium Cucumber, peeled and cut up into pieces

2 tsp. Honey

Puree cucumber in a blender. Line a sieve with cheesecloth and set the sieve over a glass bowl or measuring cup. Pour the cucumber puree through the sieve and let it stand for 15 minutes for the juices to drip into the bowl. Pour the clear juice into a clean bottle and add honey.

To use, shake the bottle and saturate a cotton pad with the lotion. Sweep over face, neck and chest morning and night, and let it air dry (about 3 to 4 minutes). Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Makes about 1/2 cup.

Avocado Carrot Cream Mask

This mask combines avocados, which are rich in Vitamin E, with carrots, which are high in beta-carotene and antioxidants, and cream, which is high in calcium and protein. These ingredients will rebuild skin collagen, improve tone and texture, and fade age spots.

1 avocado, mashed

1 carrot, cooked and mashed

1/2 cup heavy cream

1 egg, beaten

3 tablespoons honey

Combine all ingredients in a bowl until smooth. Spread gently over your face and neck, and leave in place 10-15 minutes. Rinse with cool water and follow with your favorite toner.
Mary Kay cosmetics. Takes care of oily skin, smudging, clown cheeks. Good stuff!! Call a local consultant and ask for a free demo. That I do know. What I don't know is how to keep my hair smooth all day. I just let mine go and call it the ';wild and windy'; look.
The best eyeliner that doesnt smudge is a gel liner. You can apply it as a strong line, or smoke it up, but once it sets it stays and its waterproof. Your pro brands are the best ones to get, eg: MAC, Laura Mercier, Bobbie Brown, Stila and Napoleon.

For an oily face, use an oil free cleanser and moisturiser, a primer and an oil free foundation, with powder over the top to set. Again the same pro brands are the best to get, because they are more pigment based, and have less chemicals, thus they stay on longer and are better for the skin.

The best things to keep hair smooth are:

Blow drying and using a hair straightener (even if your hair is dead straight like mine) straightening the hair and blow drying smoothes the hair cuticles, making the hair smooth. Then use a shine serum. Crystalli and goldwell sell some good ones. Good hair straighteners are the T3 and the GHD.

The best advice I can give is really look after your skin with good appropriate skin care. Cleanse every night, moisturise every day, and protect your skin from the sun.

With make-up, the most important part of your make-up is the base. The primer, foundation, concealer(if Nessessary) and powder. Dont skimp on these with cheap stuff, its a waste of money because it doesnt last very long, you use a lot more and it usually looks bad in photos. Go for pro brands with your bases.

If you want good advice from a make-up artist, but aren't sure if the sales counter girls are qualified (most of them are not) dont be afraid to ask them what make-up artistry qualification they have. (a beauty therapist is not a make-up artist by the way)
MARY KAY!!!
use a water proof eyeliner - :]] -
For an oily face, try Clean %26amp; Clear Oil Absorbing sheets. You can keep them with you anywhere. They are small sheets that quickly ansorb oil and won't smudge makeup.

For keeping my hair smooth (it's straight, but not usually smooth) I use a Nioxin Hair smoother/defrizzer (when your hair is wet) and after I apply that, I spray in Suave Kids hair detangler/leave in conditioner. It works really well and since I've been using it, my hair has stayed reallyyy smooth.

For eyeliner, black eyeshadow can come off easier than eyeliner...which is good and bad, good because if you mess up with eyeshadow, you can get it off easier than a pencil. Eyeliner takes a lot of practice to get right. Plus, if you're young, you probably don't need a whole lot of eye make up. Eyeshadow is easier and less noticeable.

Hope this helps! :-D
Depends on the kind of eye liner you wear. I wear the MK and mine never smudges and i even wipe my eyes atleast 3-5 times a day. Your face MK has face wash just for oily skin and our foundation is for oily skin also. HAIR ... umm I flat iron mine and just put some moose or gel to kinda keep it in place.

Anymore questions or if you would like some samples to try it out e-mail me at Janena84@yahoo.com I hope I helped a little.
